130 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of about 250-270 civilian ships. from the National Wealth Fund (NWF). This was announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Evtukhov. The money will be used to build passenger ships, dredgers, river-sea tankers, fishing boats and crab fishers, and a large-tonnage fleet.

“These funds still have to be finally approved by the Ministry of Finance, but there is an instruction on this from Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov,” said Mr. Evtukhov RBC. The implementation of the initiative will also require the approval of the Ministry of Economy and the government’s order to include this program in the list of projects that may qualify for NWF funds.

The current program provides for the allocation of funds for the construction of ships only until 2027, although funds were requested until 2032. This was reported to RBC by a source familiar with the details of the program. Therefore, the program itself was decided to be divided into two stages of five years each.

In September, the Ministry of Industry and Trade countedthat 2.2 times more funds will be allocated from the fund, 286.5 billion rubles. The entire program was then estimated at 477 billion rubles.
