10 stores of the Belarusian analogue of IKEA will open in Moscow in 2023

The Union of Shopping Centers (STC) of Russia signed a cooperation agreement with the Belarusian company Swed House, which sells analogues of Swedish IKEA products. The document assumes that in 2023 Swed House will open 10 stores in Russia with an area of up to 1 thousand square meters. m.
“We have now received more than a hundred requests from shopping centers that want to host them (Swed House.— “b”). It does not matter where it will be located – in the center of Moscow, on the Moscow Ring Road or in residential areas. In any case, furniture, household goods, and textiles will be in demand,” says Bulat Shakirov, head of the STC (quoted by TASS).
The Union has begun negotiations on the lease of Swed House premises in Mega shopping centers. Up to 50 stores of the Belarusian company are expected to open in Russia in the coming years.
June 15, 2022 IKEA accepted decision to completely withdraw from the Russian market. The local assets of the company were exhibited for sale.
