A criminal case was initiated against the head of the PD-50 dock for violating safety rules during work, which, through negligence, resulted in the death of two people.
According to investigators, the man was unable to regulate the uniform flooding of the ballast compartments of the dock with outboard water when it was immersed with the aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov into the waters of the Kola Bay of the Barents Sea. The dock sank due to hull rupture under uneven hydrostatic pressure.
