As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), a traditional free concert will take place on Palace Square on June 16. The group “Chizh and Co” and Alexei Poddubny (“Django”) will perform at it, reports Fontanka.ru with reference to the organizers. On May 30, one of the organizers of SPIEF, the Roscongress Foundation, announced a performance at a concert by the Zveri group. Now, according to Fontanka, the performance of the Zveri group has been canceled due to anti-war statements by soloist Roman Bilyk.
“Let’s open the cards: romantic rockers – the group” Beasts “will be the headliner on Palace Square,” the fund said in its Telegram channel.
At the same time, the city committee on culture reported that Smolny did not conclude an agreement on the performance of the Beasts group, so it is incorrect to talk about replacing artists at the main SPIEF concert.
The Dean of the Faculty of Media Communications of the Moscow State Institute of Culture, Yuri Kot, spoke to the soloist of the Zveri group, and Konstantin Chebykin, a member of the Legislative Assembly of St.
Mister Cat on his blog declaredthat “with the start of the special operation, the leader of the Zveri group, Roma Zver, publicly condemned it on social networks.”
Mr. Chebykin asked to ban the group’s performance, since it is “an insult to everyone who today, risking their lives, ensures the security of the interests of Russia and its population.” This was announced on June 6 by the Telegram channel “Paragraph”.
SPIEF-2023 will pass from 14 to 17 June. The topic of the forum is “Sovereign development is the basis of a just world, let’s join forces for the sake of future generations.” The program includes 140 events.
