Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport is closed until 10:00 (02:00 Moscow time) on January 26 due to the cyclone. Airlines are making changes to aircraft schedules, reported press service airport. The city is in a state of emergency.

The cyclone arrived in Sakhalin on January 23, and an emergency warning was announced in eight municipalities. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk schoolchildren were transferred to distance learning; public transport in the city does not work due to poor visibility on the roads. There was a state of emergency introduced January 24.
