The leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk, and musician Dmitry Emelyanov, guitarist and keyboardist of Zemfira (recognized as a foreign agent), released a joint album called Wolves in the Shooting Range. The album has nine songs, each about the war.
Two songs from this album have previously been released on music platforms – these are the songs “Motherland, Come Home” and “Funeral War”. As the musicians themselves said, they have been working on this album since the summer of 2022. The album’s last song calls for “a funeral for the war”.
In the accompanying text for the album, Yuri Shevchuk writes that the DDT group “is in good health”, but he wanted to experiment with other musicians.
“From the very beginning of work, we agreed with Dima that we wanted to achieve an analog tube sound in the style of the 1970s. We were united by love for the dawn of real rock music,” the letter says.
The musicians Dan Bailey, Alena Romanova, Manizha, Tema Mamai and Anton Vishnyakov also took part in the recording of the album. On the cover is a painting by Estonian artist Jaan Tammsaar, which is a decorative painting with fairy tale wolves pierced by bullets.
