Yappy announced that depersonalized user data was exposed to the public

During scheduled checks, the security service of the application regularly records attempts of hacker attacks, Kommersant was told in the press service of the Yappy social network. According to the company, outdated dumps of depersonalized user data containing nicknames and phone numbers turned out to be in the public domain.
Yappy does not collect last names, dates of birth and other components of personal data from users, no leak could lead to the risk of their uncontrolled distribution, the company assures: “The platform’s cybersecurity system is constantly being strengthened.”
Earlier, several Telegram channels specializing in the search for data leaks reported that the Russian vertical video service Yappy was attacked by “pro-Ukrainian hackers”.
In particular, the in2security channel reported a leak of four files with personal data of users of the social network as a whole for 2 million lines. The fact of the leak was confirmed by the sources of Kommersant Experts assumed that the attackers gained access to the data through the account of one of the service administrators.
