“Yandex (MOEX: YNDX) Taxi” approved a reduction in commission for drivers if the number of orders exceeds the number of cars many times over. According to the aggregator, this measure will provide drivers with additional income and encourage them to go on line more often when demand is high.

“As the shortage of drivers in the industry continues and measures are increasingly required to attract them, the principle of reducing service commissions during peak demand will be in effect continuously. At the same time, Yandex Taxi will continue to introduce new measures and technologies to curb the overall rise in taxi prices and at the same time maintain the income level of drivers,” the company said (quoted from TASS).

For the first time, Yandex Taxi tested the method of reducing commissions during peak demand in the winter of 2024. During this period, as the company indicated, taxi prices rose due to heavy snowfalls and pre-New Year traffic jams, and also because some drivers refused orders in bad weather or spent more time completing them. According to Yandex Taxi estimates, due to the reduction in commission in December and January, drivers received more than 500 million rubles. additional income.

In early March, the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Maxim Shaskolsky reportedthat in the near future the department will be able to begin inspections of Yandex Taxi for violation of antimonopoly laws and dominant position in the market. According to him, the FAS receives a lot of complaints about the service.
