The company said that the redeemed goods will go on sale before the end of this year. “Yandex Market” began the sale of furniture, textiles and other household goods from factories and industries that previously supplied products to IKEA stores. Goods are sold under other names. The representative of the marketplace specified to the agency that the details of the operational processes, which include the issues of storage and shipment of goods, the company will share later.
According to Interfax, the growth in turnover (GMV) of the service in the third quarter is largely due to household goods (DIY&Home category.— “b”). The share of this category is 21% of the total GMV of Yandex.Market, the agency reports.
In March, IKEA suspended the work of its stores and factories in Russia. In the summer, the company announced plans to sell all four plants in the Moscow, Leningrad, Kirov and Novgorod regions. November 9, AFK Sistema confirmed interest in these assets.
