Yandex introduced TVs with built-in smart speaker functions

Yandex introduced new TVs under its own brand: TV Station and TV Station Pro. TVs support voice control without a remote control and can perform the same functions as Yandex Station smart speakers, including with the screen turned off. “TV Station”, which “Yandex” calls the base model of the new line, is represented by models with a screen diagonal of 43 and 50 inches, “TV Station Pro” – 55 and 65 inches.

TVs are equipped with four microphones with the ability to physically mute, a voice assistant status indicator and a VA screen. Older models also feature a matte QLED backlit display and more powerful speakers (44W versus 33W). At the same time, TVs do not have the ability to receive terrestrial or cable TV signals: the company offers to watch TV channels via the Internet or use an external set-top box. Pre-orders for the base model, depending on the diagonal of the screen, are open at a price of 44.9 thousand to 49.9 thousand rubles, for the older model – from 74.9 thousand to 99.9 thousand rubles.

Yandex introduced its own TV software platform based on the Android operating system in 2020. Initially, it was used in third-party TVs (Hyundai, Leff, etc.), in 2022 the company launched TVs under its own brand. Yandex told Kommersant that they estimate the share of TVs on the Yandex TV platform in the Russian market at 20%.
