Yandex announced the launch of the Yandex Pay service for cashless payments offline through Android devices. Users will be able to activate payment via QR and NFC in the Yandex application, and payment by digital card using a smartphone will also become available. This was reported by the Yandex press service.
Using the new service, you can pay for goods and services both offline and online with a card from any Russian bank through the Mir payment system, reports TASS. Those who are not Android users will also be able to pay for purchases using QR by scanning it in the Yandex application.
Yandex launched Yandex Pay in March 2021. After the start of the special operation in February 2022, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay stopped working completely in Russia.
