Yandex Go has registered a legal entity as a tax resident in Uzbekistan. From December 1, the service intends to “start working locally in Uzbekistan,” said the head of Yandex Go in the CIS, Kirill Svintsov. Previously, the country’s authorities threatened the company with blocking for refusing to do so.

“Now we are completing all the processes, we are in constant dialogue with the State Tax Committee (Tax Committee of the Republic),” Mr. Svintsov told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of ICT Expo Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

At the beginning of October, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan demanded from Yandex Go to register as a tax resident by December. Otherwise, he was threatened with blocking until December 1. In March, the committee said that the income of the Dutch company Ridetech International, which owns Yandex Go, is not subject to taxes, since there is a double taxation agreement between the countries.

Earlier, Kommersant’s sources confirmed that the conditions for dividing Yandex’s assets between Russian and international structures changed after criticism of the company’s co-founder Arkady Volozh regarding military actions in Ukraine.

Details – in the material “Kommersant” “The owner of Yandex will be responsible for his words”.
