Yandex and Lanit sold shares in a server production joint venture to private investors

Yandex Company and Lanit Group of Companies announced about leaving the joint venture for the production of servers under the OpenYard brand. The companies’ shares were sold to private investors. The amount of the transaction and its reason are not disclosed.
The company will retain production, rights to technological developments, a team of employees and the OpenYard brand. The production of the joint venture was established at a plant in the Ryazansky industrial park at the entrance to Ryazan.
In 2021, Yandex, Lanit Group and Taiwanese Gigabyte Deal build a joint production facility in the Ryazansky industrial park. In May 2023, the enterprise was launched. Experts predicted that OpenYard servers will compete with the largest Russian server manufacturer Yadro and will occupy about 10% of the market by 2024.
