The Wildberries marketplace has decided to test differentiated rates for new pick-up points (PIU), the press service of the online retailer said.
“The online platform is ready to support the proposals of existing partners: the company has decided to test a line of differentiated tariffs for new pickup points. After the completion of the pilot period, the company will meet with new and “old” partners and receive feedback from them.
It is specified that the Wildberries team and Opora Rossii held the first working meeting with the owners of partner pickup points within the framework of the established Conciliation Commission. At this meeting, the issue was raised regarding the size of tariffs for the opening of new points. It is noted that partners are concerned about the emergence of an increasing number of new pickup points opening close to existing points. It is noted that this leads to a decrease in the flow of customers and a decrease in revenue from previously opened pickup points. The press service of the marketplace noted that in addition to this, there are cases of unfair competition.
It is known that in order to solve this situation, the owners of already existing pickup points proposed either limiting the opening of new points in the immediate vicinity, or reducing the tariff for new pickup points.
Last week, March 24, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) instructed Wildberries to create an internal arbitration to resolve disputes and finalize the offer. Earlier, due to the introduction of fines, Wildberries partners went on strike demanding a refund of wages, closing some of the points of issue and coming to the company’s central office. As a result, the marketplace announced the closure of those outlets whose owners “choose uncivilized forms of dialogue.” After the State Duma, as well as the Ministry of Labor, became interested in the situation, Wildberries announced the freezing of fines and the return of money to the accounts of the owners of the pickup point.
