The Wildberries marketplace will increase its commission on the sale of household appliances and electronics from January 8, they said RBC market participants. A Wildberries representative confirmed this data.
The company clarified that on average the commission will increase by 5 percentage points (pp). “For a tenth of such goods as headphones, projectors, electric scooters and chargers, rates will not change, for a fifth they will increase by 2 percentage points. (monitors, cameras, gamepads, etc.),” added the Wildberries representative.
According to RBC, the commission for processors increased by 7 percentage points. – from 5 to 12%, for smart watches – by 10 percentage points. — from 5 to 15%. The marketplace assured that other products will not be affected by the changes. A company representative claims that the electronics category includes technically complex devices that require special transportation and storage conditions.
In October, the Prosecutor General’s Office started verification of Wildberries due to the introduction of commissions by the marketplace for paying for goods with Visa and Mastercard cards. The next day Wildberries canceled commissions, as well as changed about 20 standards at the request of the supervisory agency. The prosecutor’s office also conducts review of the marketplace due to its conflict with sellers.
