Wildberries spoke about the refusal of some sellers to receive compensation after the fire

The Wildberries marketplace received several hundred requests from sellers who decided to refuse compensation for goods that burned in a fire in a warehouse in Shushary in the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg. Despite this, Wildberries will pay compensation to all sellers.
“Even before the start of payments, some sellers expressed a desire to voluntarily refuse compensation in order to support Wildberries. We have received several hundred such requests and are very touched by our partners’ desire to help us and are sincerely grateful for the words of support – now this is more important to us than ever,” says the marketplace in its application for sellers. The first compensation sellers have already got. The payment amount is not final, preliminary, and will subsequently be recalculated.
Fire at the Wildberries warehouse in Shushary with an area of 100 thousand square meters. m. occurred on January 13th. The fire spread to almost the entire warehouse – 70 thousand square meters. m. The damage is estimated at 10–11 billion rubles. The fire was extinguished only a day later. A criminal case has been initiated under articles of violation of fire safety rules and abuse of power (Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Ministry of Emergency Situations is considering the version with a wiring fault and checking the version of arson.
