Wildberries denied reports of a twenty-fold increase in drone sales in the first quarter. About this TASS reported in the press service of the Russian marketplace.
“Unfortunately, referring to the analytics of the Moneyplace company, the Kommersant newspaper disseminated false information. Wildberries does not share its data with Moneyplace and does not cooperate with it. Information about the growth in sales of “amateur drones” (or quadcopters) at Wildberries by 20 times year on year is not true, ”the company said.
Earlier today, Kommersant, citing data from the analytical company Moneyplace informedthat according to the results of the first quarter, the demand for drones in Russia on marketplaces increased by 15-20 times. In volume terms, drone sales through Wildberries grew 20-fold to 26,700 versus less than 2,000 a year earlier. In monetary terms, the growth was tenfold, sales increased to 88 million rubles. At the same time, 17,600 drones worth RUB 57 million were sold on Ozon. In physical terms, sales grew 15 times year on year.
On May 3, a ban on the use of drones was introduced in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Pskov region. On the same day, Alexander Khinshtein, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, said that he had sent an appeal to the Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev and the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko to introduce a temporary moratorium on the use of drones except for state needs. Later, the ban was extended to several more regions.
