Wildberries canceled 10,000 fines amid strike at pick-up points

Wildberries has temporarily froze the accrual of fines for the return of defective or incorrect goods from the owners of order pick-up points (PIU). The company has also canceled more than 10 thousand fines and will improve the service for their arbitration.

“On the one hand, we have been strengthening our control for several days to prevent possible fraudulent activities. On the other hand, we are temporarily freezing the mechanism for writing off for substitutions from the owners of partner points of issue of orders and managers of the pickup point in order to sort out all disputable situations, ”the Wildberries press service said in a statement (Kommersant has it).

The company added that every day they consider 3 thousand complaints about problematic situations. Soon 10,000 canceled fines will appear on the balance sheets of the pickup point. “In the near future, the feedback system with employees and partners of the company will be updated, thanks to which the speed of processing tickets for problematic situations will increase several times,” the press service added.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov commented on the situation with Wildberries. According to him, the Ministry of Labor and Rostrud are studying what happened. He noted that the work of the service implies “traditional labor relations”, which must comply with labor laws.

“Now a lot of attention is riveted to Wildberries from Rostrud, from the deputy corps, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, we are dealing with the situation. We are currently working with documents, with statements from citizens. Depending on this, a decision will be made jointly with the Prosecutor General’s Office whether there will be an unscheduled inspection or not,” said Mr. Kotyakov TASS.

Since March 9, Wildberries has introduced new rules for pickup point owners. They were going to be charged the full cost of the order if a defect or other product was found when they were returned to the warehouses. Entrepreneurs also complained about the system of payment, motivation, deductions.

In response, the owners of the Wildberries pickup point went on strike demanding that the fines be canceled and the money paid back. The media reported on the closure of pickup points in St. Petersburg, Barnaul and Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk, Angarsk, Chita, the Trans-Baikal Territory and Buryatia, Vladivostok and Blagoveshchensk. The Wildberries denied strike, and declaredthat with “partners” choosing “uncivilized forms of dialogue”, cooperation will be suspended.
