Wildberries banned the sale of dietary supplements without verifying their state registration certificate

The Wildberries marketplace has banned the sale of dietary supplements (BAA) if they do not have confirmation of the authenticity of the state registration certificate. About it informed RBC with reference to the press service of the company.

“In order to verify their products, when filling out product cards, sellers must provide documents for goods, the authenticity of which is confirmed by special algorithms and reconciliation with the official state register,” the statement said.

It is clarified that the products will be visible on the platform only if the originality of the certificate of dietary supplements is confirmed. Previously, dietary supplements could be sold only upon presentation of this certificate, but now it will be necessary to confirm its authenticity.

Wildberries noted that since November 2022, more than 65,000 offers of dietary supplements and vitamin complexes have received refusals to place, sellers were unable to provide relevant documents that confirm the quality.

In the fall of 2022, the department of Rospotrebnadzor of Moscow was asked to block the cards of goods of some sellers, and Wildberries itself was asked to exclude the “Vitamins and dietary supplements” section on the site.

After that, the sellers of dietary supplements sent appeals to the head of Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow, Elena Andreeva, and the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, with a request not to prohibit the sale of their goods. In particular, according to sellers, this requirement may lead to “limiting the competitive environment in online commerce and reducing sales volumes.” As a result, this will lead to the fact that pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of dietary supplements will suffer losses and the prices of their products will increase. At the same time, the authors of the appeal emphasized the inadmissibility of selling additives without proper documents.
