Whoosh, a kick-sharing service for renting electric scooters, will start operating in 10 new locations in Russia and the CIS in the new season of this year, said Dmitry Chuiko, CEO of the company.
“We do not advertise the entire list of cities yet, but in general I will say that we plan to add about ten locations to our network. That is, if last year we finished at 40, then this year there will be about 50 locations in Russia and the CIS at the start,” said Chuiko (quote according to TASS).
According to the head of the company, Whoosh is considering the markets of Uzbekistan, Armenia and Georgia. Chuiko added that the company sees Uzbekistan as the “most attractive”. “So far there are no short-term plans to launch in these locations, but we are actively looking at what is happening in these markets, and we are probably choosing the right moment to enter these markets,” he concluded.
In December 2022, Whoosh during the IPO collected two times less than the planned amount – 2.1 billion rubles. instead of the planned 5 billion rubles. As a result of the placement, the market capitalization of the company then amounted to 20.6 billion rubles.
