Whoosh localized the production of spare parts for electric scooters in Russia

The kicksharing service Whoosh has localized the production of components for electric scooters, the company’s press service said.
“As part of the project, together with local contractors, the company organized the production of rubber mats, grips and grips, decorative overlays and other details. These components are most often subject to replacement during the operation of scooters,” the representative office said.
Parts made in Russia have already been used in this season’s electric scooters, Whoosh added. Whoosh CEO Dmitry Chuiko said that the project to localize production allowed “to achieve a significant level of savings from 10 to 36% in different positions, depending on the type of components.”
“We expect savings of about 20% in the second half of 2023 from the budget for components. By additionally improving the quality and wear resistance of certain components, we predict that the savings will be even greater over a longer period of time,” Chuiko said.
The project to localize the production of components for Whoosh electric vehicles was launched in the fall of 2022. Already next season, the service plans to completely update its vehicles with parts made in the Russian Federation, and in the near future the components will be used in the scooter fleet in the CIS countries, the company said.
Formerly Vedomosti noted Whoosh shares rise for three sessions in a row. The volume of trading in shares averaged 50 million rubles. per day, however, on April 10, there was a strong growth on the Moscow Exchange – trading in shares reached almost 600 million rubles.
Whoosh became the only company that entered the Moscow Exchange in 2022. During the IPO, the company raised 2.1 billion rubles. Since then, a regular increase in the service’s shares has been recorded.
