Where will Russians go for the May holidays?

[ad_1]

The May holidays are a time for tourist trips, especially since this year they have four days off twice in a row, and many travelers seem to have already decided how to spend their free days.

According to OneTwoTrip calculations, Turkey expectedly became the leader among foreign destinations this year, forming 9.9% of the total volume of tickets booked. In second place is Indonesia (7.1% of sales), and in third place is China, which returned to the tourist travel map of Russians only last year (7%). Next come Japan, Georgia and South Korea.

But the post-Soviet countries, which were especially loved by travelers during the pandemic and the first year of hostilities in Ukraine, seem to be gradually losing fans. Only 4.6% of tourists go to Uzbekistan for May holidays, and 4.0% to Armenia.

Don’t forget about traditionally more affordable travel around the country. According to OneTwoTrip, Russians most often book hotels for the holidays in Moscow (24.3% of total sales), St. Petersburg (16.6%), Adler (4.5%), Kazan (3.6%) and Sochi (2.5%). The route map turns out to be similar when assessing the most popular train routes.

But the main thing when assessing the tourist flow is not to rush. Although the average booking depth on the market is growing steadily, on average, according to Sletat.ru, it is only two and a half weeks. This means that it will be possible to see an objective picture on May weekends no earlier than the end of April, and potential tourists still have time to take a closer look at popular destinations.
