The net profit of the VTB Group under international financial reporting standards (IFRS) in the first quarter of 2023 amounted to 146.7 billion rubles, the bank said. The bank did not disclose data for the same period last year at the direction of the Central Bank.
At the same time, the bank’s profit under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) for the first quarter amounted to 99.9 billion rubles. The group’s assets in the first quarter grew by 5%, to 25.6 trillion rubles, the volume of the total loan portfolio before provisions – up to 17.9 trillion rubles. (+3.3%).
The volume of loans issued to individuals increased by 4.2% over the quarter, to 5.8 trillion rubles, to legal entities – by 2.9%, to 12.1 trillion rubles. The total amount of funds from VTB customers increased by 7.6% to RUB 20 trillion.
In addition, in the first quarter, the number of cross-border transfers by VTB clients increased by 40% (to 34,000), said Anatoly Pechatnikov, Deputy President and Chairman of the Bank’s Management Board. Client transfers in soft currencies amounted to RUB 11.6 billion.
The most popular among the bank’s clients are Belarusian rubles (45% of transfers), Kazakh tenge (37%) and yuan (13%). The share of other currencies in the total volume of VTB transfers was only 5%. Now VTB clients can make transfers in 11 countries.
