The Bank of Russia and VTB Bank entered into an agreement on the sale of 100% of the shares of FC Otkritie. The purchase price will be 340 billion rubles. RUB 233.1 billion will be paid in cash. RUB 106.8 billion – federal bonds. Ownership will be transferred to VTB no later than December 31, 2022. As before wrote Kommersant, the former deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia Mikhail Alekseev will become the new head of the company, he will take the place of Mikhail Zadornov.
AT message The Central Bank notes that an independent appraiser of DRT JSC estimated the market value of Otkritie shares in the range of 328-374 billion rubles. Earlier, Kommersant wrote that the capital of the group is about 550 billion rubles.
After the start of the military operation, VTB and Otkritie came under US sanctions. In April it became known on plans to consolidate banks in order to optimize costs. The presale evaluation of the asset began in July.
