The Supervisory Board of PJSC VTB Bank approved the bank’s development strategy for 2024-2026, the press service of the credit institution reported (available to Kommersant). According to VTB, its key areas will be scaling the retail business and a multiple increase in settlements in national currencies with friendly countries.

The release notes that the strategy also includes areas related to ensuring technological sovereignty and the introduction of financial products using artificial intelligence. It is noted that the strategy involves the implementation of services based on the digital ruble and digital financial assets.

As reported in a VTB press release, the approved strategy will be supervised by a new board member, Vladimir Levykin. He currently holds the position of Head of the Strategy and Corporate Development Department.

According to VTB President Andrey Kostin, who are quoted in the release, at the end of the current year, the organization’s profit will reach a record value of 430 billion rubles. “Today we understand well what VTB should be 2024 – 2026: a reliable financial support for the Russian economy and business, a bank with 35 million retail clients, a modern technological platform based on domestic solutions,” said Mr. Kostin.
