VTB net profit under IFRS for four months amounted to 208.5 billion rubles

VTB Bank presented financial results in accordance with IFRS for January-April 2023. The group’s net profit for this period amounted to 208.5 billion rubles. In April, VTB earned 61.8 billion rubles.
As of the end of April, the volume of the total loan portfolio before provisions amounted to 18.5 trillion rubles. Compared to the beginning of the year, the indicators increased by 6.3% (adjusted for the effect of currency revaluation – by 4.5%). The bank’s net interest income for the first four months of 2023 amounted to 233.6 billion rubles, net fee and commission income – 60.2 billion rubles. (VTB does not disclose data for the same period last year).
The volume of loans issued to individuals over the four months increased by 5.8%, to 5.9 trillion rubles, to legal entities – by 3.9%, adjusted, to 12.5 trillion rubles. The total amount of funds from VTB customers increased by 5.3%, adjusted, to RUB 19.8 trillion.
In 2022, VTB received record losses – 756.8 billion rubles. according to RAS, as well as 613 billion rubles. according to IFRS. VTB Supervisory Board recommended shareholders not to pay dividends for the past year. In 2023, the bank plans to return to positive financial results, to make a profit in the amount of 327 billion to 400 billion rubles.
