VTB Bank has launched cross-border transfers using card numbers of national payment systems to the CIS countries. This was announced by VTB Board member Svyatoslav Ostrovsky, speaking at the Finopolis forum. Transaction limits are up to 150 thousand rubles. in a day.
“VTB clients can send money to cards of national payment systems of neighboring countries, including Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. You can conduct a transaction in a mobile application and Internet banking “VTB online”. To do this, it is enough to indicate only the recipient’s card number and his full name. The funds will be credited to the account instantly,” said Mr. Ostrovsky (quoted by TASS).
The fixed commission will be 1% of the transfer amount. The minimum transaction size is 50 rubles. You can transfer no more than 150 thousand rubles per day, no more than 300 thousand rubles per month, Svyatoslav Ostrovsky specified.
At the end of October, VTB launched its own service for cross-border transfers by phone number to friendly countries, the first of which was Armenia. In July, cross-border transfers to Vietnam became available to VTB users, and to China in September.
Cross-border transfers through Visa and Mastercard systems and through services such as Western Union have suspended work in Russia as part of the sanctions imposed after the outbreak of the military conflict in Ukraine. Also, some Russian banks were disconnected from the international SWIFT system.
