Vodka production increased in Russia in November – Kommersant

Over the 11 months of 2023, Russian alcohol production enterprises produced 4.7% less vodka than a year earlier, or 71.9 million deciliters (dal). Rosalkogoltabakcontrol reports this. At the same time, in November, vodka production in annual terms increased by 3%, to 8.7 million decaliters.

Compared with 11 months of 2021 (71.7 million decaliters), vodka production increased this year. As the department notes, 2022 was characterized by multidirectional trends against the backdrop of a reduction in exports, redirection of volumes to the domestic market and import substitution. The alcohol market is now returning to 2021 normalcy.

In total, 99.98 million dal of alcoholic beverages have been produced since the beginning of the year. This figure is 3.4% less than last year. But compared to the same period in 2021 (94.4 million decaliters), production increased. In November, in annual terms, their production increased by 2%, to 12.1 million decaliters, but decreased compared to November 2021 (12.2 million decaliters).

Cognac during the period January-November they produced 7.8 million decaliters, or 3.9% less than a year ago. In November, cognac was produced by 3.9% more, to 938.4 thousand decaliters, which is higher than the November 2021 figure (871.5 million decaliters).

Grape wines since the beginning of the year they produced 27.5 million, or 8.9% less than last year. This is slightly more than for 11 months of 2021 (27.3 million decaliters). In November, the annual decline was 15.5%, to 2.7 million decaliters. However, this figure is still higher than in November 2021 (2.5 million decaliters).

Sparkling wines since the beginning of the year they produced 11.2% less, 12.6 million decaliters. But this figure is higher than 2021 (11.3 million decaliters). In November, their bottling fell year-on-year by 26.2%, to 1.8 million decaliters, which is lower than in November 2021 (2 million decaliters).

Output liqueur wines decreased by 18.1%, to 777.9 thousand decaliters. Compared to the same period in 2021 (173.4 million decaliters), it increased several times. In November, 93.5 thousand dal of such wines were produced, or 3.7% less than a year earlier.

Low alcohol products since the beginning of the year, 20.3 million decalitres have been produced, which is 18.7% higher than the figure for the same period a year earlier. In November, production increased by 38.1%, to 2.5 million decaliters, which is higher than in November 2021 (1.8 million decaliters).
