Singer, composer and Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Mikhailov in November not only celebrated the anniversary of his creative activity, but a real anniversary – 50 years on stage. About what is happening in the life of an artist today, and favorite activities outside the stage – in our material.
— Vladimir, this month you are celebrating the anniversary of your creative activity. How do you mark?
– Just a few days ago I made a big concert, which I dedicated to the 50th anniversary of my creative activity, with the Stars of Retro orchestra and my artist friends. In spite of everything, the hall was full, there was a sea of flowers and smiles, in general, the concert was a success. After that, I visited the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill, where I took part in a concert with my friends from Star City. This is the children’s team of the House of Cosmonauts, who sang my new song “The Tale of Childhood” to the words of Vladimir Pasynkov. I donated a family heirloom to the museum for eternal storage – my mother’s captured German accordion, she went through the whole war to Berlin in 1945.
– Going back, how do you evaluate your work and what would you like to wish yourself in the near future?
– I want to wish myself, of course, health and the same energy, God gives me the strength to write songs. Almost everything that I dreamed about came true in my life: both travels and bright collectives of the USSR in which I worked: VIA “Leisya, song”, “Watercolors”, “Kinematograf”. I would say that even what I did not dream of came true – several of my songs were on the International Space Station. These are the songs “Sevastopol”, “Autumn Bonfire of Love” and “Cosmonauts”. In the near future, I really want to play a role in some good musical comedy, because I have loved cinema since childhood.
– Have difficult geopolitical moments affected your activities?
– Like everyone else: two years of a pandemic, then a special military operation. But I am an optimist in life, I believe that good will triumph over evil.
– We know about the optimist … We know that you lead an active lifestyle: concerts, travel, sports and much more. In the summer you like to ride a bike, what do you do now, in the winter?
— Yes, in the summer my favorite activity is cycling, and in general, I love nature and travel. And in winter I go to fitness twice a week: I have swimming and strength exercises. Since 1966, after the first television broadcast of the World Cup from London, I have forever fallen in love with this sport and now I watch the Qatar 2022 World Cup with great interest.
What’s new in your life today?
– This year I just have a golden autumn: it so happened that my granddaughter Yana gave birth to a daughter, and a little later my son Benjamin also had a daughter, Masha, so I became a great-grandfather and grandfather this year. And it’s very cool! Life goes on!
— What is your life credo?
– Always be in the center of events and bring maximum benefit. To give people all the good that I have.
