The artist is preparing for his anniversary
A great friend of “MK”, Honored Artist of Russia, singer and composer, ex-vocalist of the famous VIA “Leisya, Song!”, “Aquarelle” and the rock group “Kinematograph” Vladimir Mikhailov shared with us new impressions and his creative plans for 2024
— Vladimir, you travel constantly. Tell us where you were recently?
– I like traveling very much. About a year ago I was on a river cruise in the Russian North: inspiration always comes on trips, so it was there that two new songs were born – “I am a Wanderer” and “Valaam”.
— Besides travel, what else inspires you in life?
– Of course, people. Quite recently I had an interesting meeting: in Crimea I met the charming poetess Kostanika Loboda. Kostanika lives on the Black Sea coast, in the city of Alushta. She gave me her volume of poems and inspired me to write a new song, “You Will Be Happy.” Kostanika is an amazing girl, and I wish her new creative heights.
— What else new has happened lately?
— March 9 was the anniversary of the first cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, 90 years since his birth. Based on a poem by Viktor Matveev from the city of Rybinsk, I composed and recorded the song “Gagarin Waltz” at Lev Leshchenko’s studio, and now a video has appeared for it. The clip was filmed at the Pashkov House during a ball dedicated to Yuri Gagarin; the premiere took place at the Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City. In the second half of March there will be a grand concert where I will sing and host a program with the participation of the legendary ensembles “Gems”, “Good Fellows” and “Singing Hearts”.
— What are your plans for 2024?
“It so happened that my destiny was completely devoted to music and, of course, to my family. My beloved wife and I have been together for 48 years, we have not only children, but also grandchildren. Just recently I acquired a new title – I became a great-grandfather, and my beloved granddaughter gave birth to a daughter, Evelina. And just 10 days later, another joyful event happened in our family: my son’s daughter Masha was born in the same maternity hospital.
2024 is the Year of the Family. Therefore, I have a gift for my listeners: at Lev Leshchenko’s studio I recorded a new collection with funny and playful songs for kids and their parents. By the way, June 1 is Children’s Day, and the next day, June 2, is my anniversary birthday, turning 75 years old. I promise a good concert with the participation of my famous artist friends and the presentation of a new album of songs.
