VK is not going to fire employees who left Russia

Some VK employees have to work from the office most of the time, as they are responsible for security, the company’s press service said. So VK commented on the information that appeared earlier that the company is going to fire all employees located abroad if they do not return to Russia.
VK operates in a hybrid mode, “the schedule and format of work of specialists is determined individually,” RIA Novosti quotes the company’s press service. “Some categories of specialists have to work from the office most of the time. This is due to access to certain resources that ensure the security of the data of users, employees and counterparties, ”added VK.
The company does not plan to lay off employees, as the market is experiencing a shortage of IT personnel, reported “RIA News” and RBC citing company sources.
On January 12, VK’s intentions to fire employees were reported by the We Can Explain Telegram channel, citing sources. According to them, department heads were “ordered to return remote employees to Russia,” and VK is going to officially announce the decision before the end of the quarter.
