Dairy product manufacturer Viola filed a lawsuit in the Arbitration Court of the Amur Region against the regional department of the FAS. The reason was the refusal to initiate a case against the Partner Cold Storage Plant (Farmerskoye Podvorye brand) due to the similarity of the packaging. The FAS held a vote on this matter in its Telegram channel with 119 subscribers.

The details of the claim are not specified in the case file. The Viola press service confirmed RBC, that we are talking about refusal to initiate a case. The company believes that the lines of thick yogurts of Viola LLC and Khladokombinat Partner LLC have “identical external packaging characteristics.” We are talking about “the compositional construction of elements, the color scheme of key packaging elements, as well as original visual elements that imitate a number of trademarks.”

In October 2023, the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Amur Region conducted a survey in its Telegram channel on the issue of packaging similarity. The management asked to answer the question whether it is possible to buy Farm Compound products instead of Viola. The majority of respondents considered that yoghurts “have a standard product packaging solution,” that is, there is no similarity between them.

Until the spring of 2022, the Viola brand was owned by the Finnish concern Valio. The Russian division was sold to the Velcom group.

About the sale of the brand – in the material “Kommersant” “The cheese was melted from Russia”.
