Vedomosti: Rostec signed contracts for the supply of aircraft and helicopters to leasing companies for 219 billion rubles

The structures of the state corporation Rostec signed contracts for the supply of 149 aircraft and helicopters to state leasing companies in the amount of 219 billion rubles. on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is expected to announce this at a government meeting on February 16. The newspaper reported Vedomosti with reference to sources.

According to Vedomosti, a firm contract was signed for the supply by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC; part of Rostec) of 63 aircraft of the leasing company Aviakapital-service (part of Rostec). UAC is to supply 34 SSJ-News, 18 MS-21s and 11 Tu-214s in the amount of 175.4 billion rubles. These aircraft are expected to be leased to Aeroflot.

A firm contract was also signed for the supply by the Russian Helicopters holding (part of Rostec) of 86 Mi-8 helicopters to the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC). The contact amount is estimated at 44.5 billion rubles.

At the same time, UAC and STLC have not yet signed a firm contract for the supply of 8 SSJ-News, 10 Baikal light aircraft, and 21 helicopters for the Far Eastern airline Avrora. In early February, Izvestia reported that this investment project had been approved by the government, its cost was estimated at 55 billion rubles.

The contracts were concluded on the instructions of Vladimir Putin, issued following the meeting on January 11. Then Mr Putin spoke with criticism of the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov because of problems with the conclusion of contracts for the supply of aircraft. Vladimir Putin noted that Russian aircraft factories did not yet have contracts for 2023 at that time. The order expired on February 15th.
