Nespresso, the Swiss manufacturer of coffee machines and capsule coffee (part of the Nestle group), will close all mono-brand stores in Russia, reports Vedomosti with reference to several consultants who worked with the company. At the same time, Nespresso intends to maintain its presence in the country, focusing on working with retailers.
Now, according to the sources of the newspaper, Nespresso is negotiating with the owners of retail premises regarding the withdrawal from lease agreements. This information is confirmed by retail real estate consultant Anna Savenko and head of the retail department of the consulting company CORE.XP Marina Malakhatko. The flagship two-story Nespresso boutique at the corner of Stoleshnikov Pereulok and Bolshaya Dmitrovka, opened in 2016, has already closed.
In March, Nestle, the world’s largest food manufacturer, announced on the suspension of supplies to Russia of products that are not vital. This category, in particular, includes Nespresso coffee, Pringles chips and S.Pellegrino mineral water.
