Valery Kazarin appointed new deputy chairman of the Central Bank

Valery Kazarin has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia since March 1. Previously, he headed the Department of Projects and Processes. Mikhail Balakin has been appointed as his interim.
As follows from messages of the Central Bank, Valery Kazarin will continue to oversee the work of the Projects and Processes Department, the Procurement Department, the Real Estate Department of the Bank of Russia and the Nudol Technology Center.
Today, February 28, Ruslan Vesterovsky left the post of Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank. The regulator announced his departure on February 20, explaining this by the desire of Mr. Vesterovsky “to continue his career outside the Bank of Russia.” He has been in office since 2017.
From 2008 to 2014, Valery Kazarin worked as an engineer at the Main Department of the Central Bank for the Tambov Region. Later, he held the position of a leading engineer, and in 2016 he was appointed chief expert of the Information Technology Department of the Central Bank. Mr. Kazarin has headed the Department of Projects and Processes since April 2018.
