UStream: donations to streamers grew by 23% in 2022

The turnover of payments to bloggers on the YuStream donation platform grew by 23% in 2022 and amounted to 46 million rubles, according to a study by the fintech company YuMoney, cited by TASS. According to live stream monetization service DonationAlerts, donations have increased by 27% this year.
The number of viewers who pay streamers on the UStream platform increased by 14%. The amount of the average transfer to bloggers increased by 14%. According to DonationAlerts, the average check of donations increased by 20%, the number of payments – by 5%.
At the same time, according to DonationAlerts, 80% of broadcast revenues come from 20% of streamers. The service notes that, despite the difficulties, as well as diverting the attention of Russian users from entertainment content, streams continue to grow as an industry.
In February, Twitch, the most popular streaming platform in Russia, as well as OnlyFans, limited the withdrawal of money to some Russian accounts. In March, TikTok banned streaming and uploading new content to users from Russia, and in December it became known that the platform was cutting Russian staff.
