New management of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), which came under the control of VTB (MOEX: VTBR), plans to replace the general directors of Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg Igor Orlov and the Yantar Baltic shipyard in Kaliningrad Ilya Samarin, three sources said “Vedomosti”.

One of the publication’s interlocutors said that the issue of dismissal of Igor Orlov and Ilya Samarin was planned to be discussed with members of the board of directors, but the decision was blocked. However, the question is still relevant. Two other sources explain that the change of shipyard general directors is due to the arrival of new USC management.

According to interlocutors, Andrei Buzinov, deputy general director of the corporation, may be appointed as the head of another USC enterprise – Admiralty Shipyards. Now the acting general director of the enterprise after the resignation of Andrei Veselov is Andrei Bystrov. As Vedomosti writes, Mr. Bystrov was offered to remain in his position, but he refuses.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in October on the transfer of the state block of shares of USC to the trust management of VTB for five years. According to Kommersant, the decision was caused by the failure of the USC rehabilitation program, which began in 2020. After the president approved the transfer of USC to the bank, the corporation’s management happened changes. Former first deputy chairman of VTB Andrei Puchkov was appointed head of USC, and Andrei Kostin was elected chairman of the board of directors of USC. Mr. Kostin previously said that the government should take upon itself to close the financial holes of the corporation.

Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Ships came into our banks”.
