US prepares response to OPEC+ decision to cut oil production

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called “disappointing and short-sighted” OPEC+’s decision to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day (b/d) from November. He said that Washington is considering retaliatory measures, including in the area of relations with Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Blinken touched upon this topic at a press conference in Lima after a meeting with Peruvian Foreign Minister Cesar Landa. The Secretary of State believes that the supply in the energy market “should match the demand,” reports TASS.
