Three members of the US House of Representatives stated about the need to launch an investigation into the company SpaceX, co-founded and headed by Elon Musk. Such demands were made after the recently released investigations Reuters, which reported a large number of work-related injuries at SpaceX facilities in the United States.

According to the agency, since 2014, a total of about 600 workers have been injured at construction and launch sites, assembly plants and other SpaceX facilities, and one of the incidents resulted in the death of an employee from his injuries. Company employees with whom journalists spoke report that in pursuit of results, SpaceX has poor safety standards – several dozen people received complex fractures, lacerations, traumatic brain injuries, complex burns, etc.

After the publication of the Reuters investigation, three Democratic members of the US House of Representatives representing states such as California and New Jersey said that “these data raise serious concerns.” California Congressman Mark Takano, a member of the House Committee on Education and the Labor Market, noted that “the (safety) violations at SpaceX facilities are simply unacceptable”: “It is especially sad that its obligations to the workers affected in production is not performed by a company with which the federal government cooperates.” According to New Jersey Congressman Donald Norcross, “it is clear that we need to pay closer attention to the data presented and conduct an investigation.”
