In April, the average price of Urals oil was $58.63 per barrel. This is 1.2 times lower than in the same month a year earlier ($70.52 per barrel), but 22.5% more than in March ($47.85 per barrel). The price of North Sea Dated oil in April was $84.89.
In April, a law came into force in Russia on a new methodology for determining the price of Urals oil when calculating taxes on the extraction of minerals (MET) and on additional income from the extraction of hydrocarbon raw materials (ATD). According to the law, when calculating duties, the discount on Urals is limited. In the same month, the State Duma adopted a lawwhich establishes from June 1 the rate of duty on oil exports not from the price of the Russian grade Urals, but based on the cost of the Brent blend.
