The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation received a batch of modernized MiG-31 interceptor fighters from the Nizhny Novgorod Sokol Aviation Plant (part of the United Aircraft Corporation; UAC).
According to the UAC, repairs and upgrades carried out on the Sokol will not affect the originally designed flight performance of combat vehicles. At the same time, their functionality and capabilities were expanded. Updated fighters have already been sent to their permanent bases.
In January, the Sokol aircraft plant also sent Ministry of Defense several MiG-31 fighters. The vehicles received new weapons and avionics. The planes returned to Kamchatka and joined the squadron on combat duty in the Arctic and the Far North.
