Ukrainian passed better than Russian: it became known how Zhvanetsky studied at school

At the anniversary commemorative exhibition for the unfulfilled 90th anniversary of the satirist Mikhail Zhvanetsky, the comedian’s graduation grades were “shown.”
According to the authentic Certificate of Maturation of the Ministry of Education of the Ukrainian SSR, he graduated from Odessa school in 1947 with the following grades:
1. Ukrainian language – 5 (five)
2. Ukrainian literature – 5 (five)
3. Russian language – 4 (four)
4. Russian literature – 4 (four)
Young Misha Zhvanetsky knew algebra perfectly well, as well as the History of the USSR, the Soviet Constitution, Geography, Physics and other natural science subjects.
In the middle of the last century, he had 4 quadruples, including those mentioned above (plus geometry and trigonometry).
One should not conclude that Ukrainian was closer to Zhvanetsky in his early youth. Due to its peculiarities, this language is simpler than Russian (even the spelling is simpler: I write as I hear).
