Oleg Skrypka, leader of the Vopli Vidoplyasova group, said that concert venues in Europe are canceling performances by Ukrainian musicians “under the auspices that Ukrainians are fascists,” so they “cannot sing their songs in their native language.”
“We understand where the legs grow from,” Skrypka says in his video message to fans. “Such corruption, and this is how the long arms of the Kremlin work.”
Violin’s concert in Hamburg has been canceled, according to the statement. At the same time, Ukrainian media indicate that the writer Serhiy Zhadan complained about the same problem earlier, to whom a scheduled performance in Milan was canceled.
Earlier, the Georgian authorities confirmed cancellation of autumn performances Russian artists who spoke out against the special operation in Ukraine.
