Ukraine will resume electricity exports to Europe. The first auction for the distribution of network bandwidth – for delivery to Moldova on April 11 – was held by Ukrenergo these days. Due to the ongoing armed conflict with the Russian Federation, suppliers are provided with access to capacities only for a short period.
“According to the results of the auction, 51% (330 out of 650 MW) of all available network bandwidth in this direction was distributed among four participants … In addition, an auction will be held today to distribute 80 MW of interstate crossing capacity in the direction of Poland on the delivery date of April 12,” – reported in the Telegram channel “Ukrenergo”.
The company added that they will export electricity to Europe only if there is an excess of production in the domestic energy system and “primary provision of Ukrainian consumers.”
Ukraine’s electricity supplies to Europe stopped due to shelling of infrastructure last fall. On the absence of a deficit in the energy system of the country Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported February 22. Before that, on February 13, Ukrenergo reported that the rate of restoration of the system’s facilities was “higher than the rate of destruction.”
