Ukraine denies “settlement” in the country of Russian gas destined for Moldova

The “GTS Operator of Ukraine” (OGTSU) reported that Kyiv fully fulfills its obligations to Moldova and supplies it with all the prescribed volumes of Russian gas that passes through Ukraine in transit. Formerly Gazprom declaredthat part of the gas intended for Moldova “settles” in Ukraine, and threatened to cut the fuel supply on November 28 from 10:00.

The statement on the website of the GTS Operator of Ukraine says that the company remains a reliable partner of Moldova. Representatives of the OGTSU assured that all the volumes that were accepted at the entry point from Russia “Sudzha”, in particular, for further transportation to Moldova, were transferred at the exit points from Ukraine “Alekseevka” and “Grebeniki” in full. This is confirmed by all the necessary documents signed with related operators, one of which is Gazprom itself, the company said.

The OGTSU noted that since the beginning of September 2022, after many years of developments, Moldova has introduced a virtual reverse at the connection points with Ukraine. Since the end of September, the transportation of natural gas from Moldova to Ukraine through the Grebeniki connection point has been carried out precisely in the form of a virtual reverse.

“By threatening to reduce gas supplies to Moldova, Gazprom is trying to deprive this country of the opportunity to use Ukrainian GTS and underground gas storage facilities (UGS) and block the virtual reverse tool, thereby increasing dependence on Russian natural gas at the beginning of the heating season,” the statement said. “GTS Operator of Ukraine”.
