Ukraine added crab stick manufacturer Vici to the list of “war sponsors”

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) of Ukraine has included the manufacturer of seafood products Viciunai Group (trademark Vici) on the list of “international war sponsors”. In March 2022, the company announced plans to leave Russia.
“The company conducts its business in Russia as usual without any reductions, successfully defends the Russian trademark in court, continues to recruit personnel for its subsidiaries, supporting the labor market in the country,” NAPC said in a message on its Telegram channel.
According to NAPC, as long as such well-known brands remain on the Russian market, the world receives the wrong signal, and Russia remains part of the world economy. The Viciunai Group, the agency added, was unable to go “beyond empty promises” and leave Russia.
After announcing its exit from Russia in March 2022, the company stopped all investments in production, logistics, trading and advertising. In April of the same year, the head of Viciunai Sarunas Matijosaitis said that the holding intended to leave the Russian market within four months.
