The Turkish airline Turkish Airlines has reduced the list of justifications for refusing boarding on flights to South America, RIA Novosti reports. Additional control rules apply for flights to Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Cuba.
Initially, the carrier warned that entry may be denied to passengers visiting the country for a long period without luggage, as well as those flying abroad for the first time, and those who do not have “documents suitable for the stated purpose of the trip.” Turkish Airlines has removed these items from the list. It is clarified that boarding may be denied to passengers who do not have sufficient cash or credit on their card for the trip.
In March, Turkish Airlines began removing Russians en masse from flights to Argentina. According to Kommersant FM, at least 50 people were injured. Many of them flew to Istanbul with the same carrier, but in Turkey itself they had problems. The Russian Embassy in Buenos Aires blamed the airline.
