Bank of non-core assets “Trust” closed the deal to sell 90% of the bank “Tochka” for 41.5 billion rubles. The amount of the transaction exceeded the initial cost at the auction by 68%, the bank was bought out by the minority shareholder of Tochka, the press service of Trust reported.
“The buyer under the deal was a minority shareholder of Tochka JSC,” the press service of the bank of non-core assets said (Kommersant has).
To buy out the top management of Tochka attracted a consortium of investors with the participation of the Interros group. The lot included Tochka JSC and all subsidiaries, including the bank – Bank Tochka LLC, whose capital is 7.36 billion rubles. Now the management has consolidated 100% of the shares. The starting price rose as a result of high investor interest in the asset.
Tochka is a digital bank for entrepreneurs and businesses. Its authorized capital is about 3.5 billion rubles. By the beginning of 2023, Tochka JSC had 366,000 active clients. In June 2022, Otkritie Bank, which became part of the VTB Group, sold approximately 90% of Tochka’s shares to Trust. In February “Point” received a universal license that allows a financial institution to perform all available types of banking operations in Russia and abroad.
