“Trinity” was delivered to the Grabar restoration center

The icon “Trinity” by Andrei Rublev was brought from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior to the restoration center named after I.E. Grabar. On Wednesday, July 19, said the head of the department for scientific and methodological work and exhibition activities of the center Elena Prokhanova.
The expert clarified that the special box containing the icon will be opened on July 20, these are the museum rules.
Decisions on the necessary conservation and restoration measures will be discussed at a meeting of the extended restoration council.
Earlier, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Reverend said that even after the transfer of the Russian Orthodox Church to free use of the icon of Andrei Rublev “Trinity” remains in the museum fund of Russia. At the same time, all measures for the control, supervision and protection of the icon will be provided.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, thanked the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and the department headed by her for their assistance with the transfer of the icon, calling this event historic.
