Transneft will start transiting Kazakh oil to Germany in February

The official representative of Transneft, Igor Demin, said that the company is ready to launch the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. Germany refused to accept oil from Russia – Poland, on the contrary, agreed and bought 500 thousand tons of energy in January.
“We have everything ready for the transit of these 20,000 tons of oil from Kazakhstan through Russia, Belarus, Poland to Germany via the northern branch of Druzhba. An agreement was concluded, on its basis route instructions were prepared, even the necessary transit payments were made,” Mr. Demin told TASS. He noted that Transneft was ready to start oil transit on January 31st.
According to Igor Demin, today in the first half of the day, Transneft fulfilled the schedule for pumping oil to Poland, which still buys Russian oil. The Polish authorities expressed their readiness to abandon the energy resource from Russia in May 2022.
January 29 Transneft received an application from Kazakhstan for pumping oil to Germany via Druzhba. It included the reservation of additional capacities of the oil pipeline in the amount of 1.2 million tons for 2023.
